I started with hand printed papers that were curated and collaged onto watercolor paper. I sketched the cats then painted them and then collaged the fabric bits. I incorporated painting, printing, collage and drawing. Some of the concepts explored in this series: a clear focal point; layers and textures; organic, gestural, simplified sketch; the use of lines and circles; distortion.
My cats love to help in all endeavors - sewing, painting, cleaning, cooking. These three are large, comical, and cozy so it’s hard to be mad at them. I hope you enjoy these visual vignettes of my cats helping/not helping.
